KRONOS EUROPE is part of KRONOS Worldwide INC, a global player in the production of Titanium dioxide. TiO2, a white pigment with very high hiding power, is mainly found in coatings and plastics but also in inks, paper, fibers and cosmetics.
Spread across our plants in the US, Canada, Germany, Norway and Belgium, we produce some 560,000 tons of high-quality TiO2. In our plant here in Ghent, together with 300 colleagues, we achieve sales of 90,000 tons and are continuously working on further capacity expansion.
Our production process takes place in a sustainable manner, with attention to the environment, our customers, our employees and our surroundings. Our ambition is to be climate neutral by 2050. We are looking for an Environmental & Energy Expert who can support us in this.

About the job
As Environmental & Energy Expert, you are part of the "Safety, Environment, Quality & Energy" team and report directly to the head of department. 
In this expert role the focus is on (helping to) set up and implement our environmental and energy policy and you are responsible for our efforts to achieve a sustainable organization.
Some of your duties include: 

• Together with the Environmental & Energy Coordinators, you will work on the transition of KRONOS EUROPE to a sustainable company. We are constantly investigating the possibilities of using new technologies. Our engineers take care of the technical aspect, while your expertise in the field of Environment & Energy will be an important factor in investment decisions. 
• Researching grant opportunities and preparing grant files will be your responsibility.
• You are adept at screening environmental and energy legislation and direct the implementation of legal obligations. 
• You keep your knowledge up-to-date, follow relevant trainings and share information with colleagues.
• You support ISO standards and assist with internal and external audits.

Obviously you have a master's degree, preferably combined with a certificate Environmental Coordinator A. Relevant experience in the environment and/or energy is a plus.
