KRONOS Europe is one of the 6 production sites of KRONOS Worldwide INC. It is thanks to the worldwide commitment of our 2,250 colleagues (300 of them here in Ghent) that we have grown into a global player in the chemical sector.
We produce titanium dioxide (TiO2), a white pigment with strong covering power. TiO2 can be found in coatings and plastics but also in inks, paper & cosmetics. It makes products whiter and provides gloss. You could say that we literally give color to the world.
Here in Ghent we produce about 90,000 tons of TiO2 per year and we do so in a sustainable and safe way. We have been an established name in the Ghent Canal Zone for more than 65 years.

About the job

Almost 1/3 of our 300 colleagues in Ghent work in the Maintenance department. The maintenance team is responsible for ensuring the reliability and functionality of all devices, instruments and electrical equipment here at our plant in Langerbrugge.
Your focus will be on the Electricity and Instrumentation (E&I) section, where you will manage about 20 technical employees. You will report directly to the Head of Maintenance.

Some of your duties include:

• You will lead the E&I team and contribute to their development
• Besides planning work for your team, you also provide support in fault analysis.
• You ensure the continuous improvement of our processes and the reliability of our installations at an electrical and instrumental level; your goal is to prevent failures as much as possible
• You work on good technical documentation and update it if necessary (plans, diagrams, ...)
• Safety will also be an important part of your job. So you not only ensure that your employees work safely, but you also participate in drawing up risk analyses (HAZOP) and tests to improve environmental items.
• You keep your knowledge of technological developments up to date so that you can actively contribute to working and project groups.
