Summary

KRONOS is a global player in the production of Titaniumdioxide (TiO2), a white pigment with strong covering power. TiO2 can be found in coatings and plastics but also in inks, paper & cosmetics. It makes products whiter and provides gloss. You could say that we literally give colour to the world. Here in Ghent, we produce some 90,000 tonnes of TiO2 a year and of course it all has to be packaged neatly. To help us do this, we are looking for new operators in the finishing department.

Duties and Responsibility

Making TiO2 is a chemical process that happens in 2 parts. First, there is the chloride process (CP) in which the iron oxide-contaminated dark ores are cleaned up in the chlorine process to a bright white TiO2 suspension. This suspension is then treated, dried and ground into KRONOS end products in the Finishing Department (FN) via specific formulations. These final products need to be packaged in a final stage.
Between 2020 and 2022, KRONOS invested in a totally new packaging department. The project has equipped the department with 4 new state-of-the-art packaging machines. It is in this department that we are currently looking for motivated operators to work together in a team of packing operators to keep these new machines operational.
In FN, there are a total of 6 posts. It should be the ambition of every new packing operator, after a thorough induction period, to learn every post in the service, to eventually hold the position of Polyvalent Operator NB. To this end, KRONOS provide thorough and thorough training per post to provide new colleagues with the necessary time to gain knowledge and experience.

Education and Experience

You hold an A2 diploma (preferably in a technical or scientific field) or are equivalent through experience.
·    But your attitude, analytical thinking, and eagerness to learn are at least as important.
·    You take responsibility and like to roll up your sleeves.
·    You enjoy working independently but can function equally well in a team.
·    You are stress-resistant and think in a solution-oriented way in problem situations,
·    You are prepared to work in a full-time system.
·    For safety reasons, you can express yourself fluently in Dutch.
