KRONOS Europe is an established player in the Ghent Canal Zone. We are one of the 6 production sites of KRONOS Worldwide INC. It is thanks to the global commitment of our 2,250 colleagues (300 of them here in Ghent) that we have grown into a global player in the chemical sector.
We produce Titanium dioxide (TiO2), a white pigment with strong covering power. TiO2 can be found in coatings and plastics but also in inks, paper & cosmetics. It makes products whiter and provides gloss. You could say that we literally give colour to the world.
Here in Ghent we produce some 90,000 tonnes of TiO2 a year, which requires a lot of (hazardous) raw materials. To load and unload them all, we are looking for an Operator Loading & Unloading (Operator Raw Materials & Packaging).

What does your working day look like?

Making TiO2 is a chemical process that requires a lot of raw materials. Examples include chlorine, toluene, caustic soda, etc.
You will join the Materials Management department where, together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for unloading these raw materials. Your tasks also include loading by-products. You will have to wear suitable PPE for some raw materials, such as compressed air, full face mask, gloves, etc. Using the forklift truck and/or telehandler, you will move general cargo throughout the site. You will also carry out checks and ensure the safety, orderliness, and tidiness of the workplace.
You can also enter the received goods smoothly into our SAP system.

What do you bring?

• You hold a secondary education degree, preferably in a technical field.
• You have experience in a similar position in chemistry.
• You can drive a forklift and have a valid certificate.
• You have a sense of quality and safety.
• You work in a small team with various tasks, so flexibility is expected.
• You have common sense and can easily make connections.
• You have sufficient computer knowledge (knowledge of SAP is an asset).
• For security reasons, you can express yourself fluently in Dutch.
