What does your working day look like?

As a Production Engineer you are responsible for the daily operation of a production department responsible for the production of titanium dioxide using a high-tech chemical process. Together with your colleagues you supervise the core activities regarding production volume, quality, installations, production cost, staffing, general working conditions, planned downtime, safety and environmental aspects.

What will be your biggest challenges?

• Ensuring high quality and safety levels of production in your department.
• Leading and coaching about 50 production employees. In this way your people skills will be fully utilized and you will provide structure and a pleasant atmosphere on the shop floor. Your team works in shifts, you work the day shift.
• Continuously improve the efficiency of daily operations so that work can be done in the most economical way. You do this by critically examining the existing processes and procedures.
• You initiate improvement proposals concerning quality, safety, hygiene and environment. You also encourage your employees to make proposals.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety and productivity (through team meetings, compliance with safety regulations, etc.).
• Participate in the planning of plant maintenance work.
• You will report to the Group Leader.

What do you bring?

• You have a technical master's degree and experience in a production environment, but above all a large portion of enthusiasm to work with us to produce the very best titanium dioxide!
• You demonstrate an understanding of our production process. Experience in a Seveso site is a plus. You are driven, positive and do your job with passion.
• As an inspiring people manager, you know how to create support on the production floor. You have a (first) managerial experience. You are involved, ask the right questions, guide and challenge your team every day to give their best and to grow. You know how to assess, use and develop talents. You are decisive in indicating and respecting boundaries.
• You have experience in an analytical-operational-management role. You stand firm and express your own opinion and vision. Correct reporting and pertinent follow-up characterize your approach.
• You are an organizational jack-of-all-trades. You know how to find the perfect balance between your urgent operational responsibilities and (middle) long term actions and projects. You communicate very clearly (NL/ENG) about this to the various stakeholders.
