Summary
The mine/open pit is located at Tellenes in Sokndal. We have processing facilities in Hommedal (part of the Tellenes area) and at our drying facility in Jøssingfjord. Our production line is complex, with many different steps to extract ore, crush it and process it further to separate ilmenite from the ore. All steps in the process must be carried out with the utmost precision in order for the ilmenite to be delivered in accordance with the pigment industry's needs. In connection with an internal organizational change, we are looking for operational shift managers, who will not only lead the operators on the individual shift, but also help ensure quality and develop production. The shift manager is responsible for ensuring that the operators on the shift experience mastery and contribute to job satisfaction, while the team achieves solid deliveries to our customers. The position involves personnel responsibility and will ensure the team's compliance with routines and processes, as well as safeguarding the operators' working environment. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in an operational environment and enjoys taking responsibility. You will be a key person in our production line, leading a team of operators in a hectic and dynamic everyday life to ensure efficient deliveries of high quality in a safe working environment. We are looking for shift managers for our preparation department (process/chemistry) and our mining department.
Duties and Responsibility
Tasks and responsibilities • HSE responsibility in daily operations and lead by example. • Lead and participate in daily production on the shift. • The position reports to the operations manager in the department. • Ensure that assigned tasks are carried out in accordance with government requirements, customer specifications and our own internal instructions and procedures. • Ensure that daily operations on the shift are kept within fixed time frames and plans. • Lead or participate in regular safety meetings and coordinate the rectification of deviations • Contribute to planning staffing, material and equipment needs. • Ensure compliance with our values
Education and Experience
Qualifications/Requirements • Certificate (respectively chemical process, rock and mining/machine operator) • Desire for technical vocational school or equivalent • Relevant experience can compensate for formal competence • Willing to undertake necessary competence development/further education • Has basic technical/digital competence • Driver's license (Class B) • Good communication skills - written/oral in Norwegian To succeed in the role, we believe it is an advantage if you • Like to lead and have management experience. • Are structured, goal-oriented and have the ability to prioritize/see the whole • Like to work operationally and have a proactive approach to solving different situations that arise • Can make yourself understood in English orally/written
