Summary
The engineering department at KRONOS Canada primarily serves as a Project Management Office (PMO) and as a center of technical expertise supporting production and maintenance.
KRONOS is a chemical plant with a continuous process that handles a wide variety of products, extreme-temperature processes, exotic materials, and more! In addition, the engineer will need to develop interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with our central engineering team based in Leverkusen, Germany.
Duties and Responsibility
Prepare cost estimates for upcoming projects;
Write grant applications to secure funding for projects (AR); Plan and execute project tasks;
Perform the necessary engineering calculations; Create conceptual sketches;
Sign and stamp drawings in accordance with OIQ standards;
Prepare specifications and requests for proposals for the purchase of equipment and services; Analyze technical and commercial bids;
Prepare purchase orders;
Supervise contractor work on-site; Conduct on-site safety audits; Prepare project progress reports;
Organize project meetings and prepare meeting minutes; Support the maintenance team in continuous improvement efforts;
Identify cost-reduction projects related to equipment reliability, calculating return on investment;
Stay attuned to KRONOS’s values and apply them daily in your work;
Responsible management;
Food safety (ISO 22000);
Health and safety of KRONOS personnel and the community.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent;
Experience in the chemical or petrochemical industries is a plus.
Required Technical Skills:
Ability to use the following software:
MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);
SAP (Hana).
