Summary

Under the supervision of the Engineering Superintendent, the Mechanical Project Engineer manages capital and plant maintenance projects. He is responsible for the technical quality of projects, compliance with budgets and deadlines. He is also accountable for all departments working within a project under his responsibility. In support of production and maintenance, he is called upon as a mechanical engineer to work on solving production, reliability and cost reduction problems. During factory shutdowns, he may be called upon to plan work and supervise it.

Duties and Responsibility

  • Prepare estimates for projects to be carried out;
  • Write appropriation requests for capital projects (AR);
  • Plan and execute project tasks;
  • Perform the required engineering calculations;
  • Make concept sketches;
  • Sign and seal drawings according to OIQ standards .;
  • Prepare quotes and tenders for the purchase of equipment and services;
  • Analysis of technical and commercial quote;
  • Prepare purchase requests;
  • Supervise the work of a site contractor;
  • Perform site safety audits;
  • Prepare project progress reports;
  • Organize project meetings and prepare reports;
  • Support the maintenance group in continuous improvement;
  • Identify cost reduction projects related to equipment reliability, by identifying the amounts of return on investment., etc.);
  • To be constantly aware of the following Kronos values and apply them daily in tasks :
    • Responsible Care;
    • Food Safety Management (ISO 22000);
    • Health and safety of personnel and Kronos community.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent;
  • Have 5 years of relevant experience in chemical or petrochemical industries an asset.

  • Savoir faire preuve d'initiative;
  • Être autonome;
  • Pouvoir travailler sous pression;
  • Atout : Connaître des outils d’analyse de déficience (FMEA, Kaizen, 5P, etc.)
  • Atout : Avoir une expérience de travail en milieu syndiqué;
  • Maîtriser le français et l’anglais, à l’expression orale et écrite.
  • Être en mesure d’utiliser les logiciels suivants :
    • Suite MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);
    • SAP (Hana).
