Summary

Reporting to the Chloride Department Superintendent, the Production Foreman manages the unionized employees under his responsibility, ensures smooth operations, monitors operating and health & safety procedures, and maintains sound labor relations. 
 

Duties and Responsibility

Main responsibilities : 

  • Supervises the work of operators; 
  • Ensures training needs are met; 
  • Controls schedules and disciplinary measures, if necessary; 
  • Writes daily production reports; 
  • Participates in production meetings; 
  • Is responsible for compliance with health and safety rules at production level;  
  • Transmits and follows up repair requests to the maintenance sector for planning purposes, according to production vs. maintenance priority; 
  • Complete and validate time cards; 
  • Ensure effective communication from and to other departments; 
  • Acts as a coach to employees. Takes them to the next level in mobilizing them to achieve their objectives; 
  • Support the employee in all stages of the production process. 

Profile required
A mobilizing leader, the candidate must have a sense of priorities, be organized and autonomous. Demonstrating team spirit, he/she is results-oriented and concerned with achieving common goals. 
 

Education and Experience

Qualifications : 

  • High school diploma (DES);  
  • 5 to 7 years' experience as a foreman; 
  • Problem-solving skills; 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project; 
  • Experience in the chemical industry with continuous processes; 
  • Experience in a unionized environment (an asset).
