Duties and Responsibility

Under the supervision of the foreman, the pipefitter will have the following responsibilities:

• Install, repair and replace in-plant adduction equipment and heat exchange systems including steam bundles, unit heaters, shell-and-tube exchangers, spirals, etc;
• Fabricate new metal, plastic, fiberglass, polymer and steel-polymer lined piping;
• Diagnose sources of problems in heating systems by manipulating valves and instruments related to pipe lines;
• Read plans and specifications to determine lengths/quantities of materials required;
• Comply with company health and safety standards, including wearing appropriate protective equipment (clothing and respiratory).
   

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent and DEP in plumbing and heating;
Plumber's certificate of qualification (construction or non-construction);
Minimum 5 years' experience (2 years in heavy industry or chemical industry an asset);
Natural gas burner systems license (an asset).
